Some of My Favorite Gurus

Hi everyone!

I'm having major computer problems right now of course so that is why no posts lately.  Sad sad sad!  but today is going to be a special, quick post about some of my favorite things about the online beauty world.  These are a list of some of my favorite websites, you tube videos, anything that I feel has helped me learn how to better my beauty tricks and shape my own routines.  I hope you enjoy!

#1 Jalapena2007's youtube channel
I absolutely love watching this lovely lady's videos.  I always feel like she is giving 110% and her vast product reviews are always honest.  I love that she does research on her products down to exactly what the ingredients should do.  She is so sweet and everytime I've commented on her videos I get a heartfelt response.  She's just great to watch for great product reviews!

#2 Glamlifeguru's youtube channel
Ever feel overwhelmed with trying to find those beauty deals and coupon lists?  Look no further than Miss Tati's videos!  Every week she goes to three main drug stores and shows you how to get those fabulous deals throughout the store.  She is also great for linking coupons and showing just how to save big bucks on your purchases.  She does all this with a great attitude.  She also has great videos with tutorials and reviews.  She is so fun to watch and has great advice!

#3 MissChievous's youtube channel
Want to know how to do amazing makeup looks on your own?  Julia is the answer!  From the dramatic to everyday looks, she has tons of videos on how to do your makeup for every occasion.  She is great at breaking down all the steps and providing good secrets on how to perfect your own make up routines.  I have used her everyday makeup looks, as well as her more dramatic looks for my dance shows.  She always comes up with interesting and original work.

#4 Panacea81's youtube channel
This channel has a special place in my heart because these were the first channel I started watching for makeup how to's.  This channel has grown tremendously since I started watching and Lauren has become a big name from her channel.  She still holds true to her style and has not gotten away from her goals.  She has many how to's,  product reviews, and helpful tips to make sure that you are able to understand just how to make yourself look fabulous!

A Hallelujah Hair Product!

Good Morning Beauty Lovers!

I want to say thank you to those of you who have read my first posts, and those who have become followers and left comments! Means so much to see people who are interested.

Well this morning after returning from running errands, I was happy to see a package on our front door with my name on it.  Inside was a refill of a product that has absolutely changed my life in so many good ways.  So without keeping you in suspense any longer, I present to you the Dermorganic Argan Oil leave in Treatment.  Phew!  A long name but thats the worst thing about this product.

So I was introduced to this product from my mom (hi mom!) as a leave in oil for after showered hair.  I have curly thick hair naturally so it requires a lot of moisture.  I've tried biosilk, chi, different sprays and leave ins but nothing that ever just made me say wow.  This product makes me say wow in 5 different languages.  I was getting it at our local salon for $25 for 4 oz.  I've had the same bottle now for at least 6 months.    This time I opted for ordering it from Amazon and I paid $16.40 no shipping from a place called Four Seasons Boutique.  Took only 3 days to get here, and they sent me 2 free samples so thumbs up!

The info from the bottle reads: Vegan hair care, no animal testing, no artificial preservatives, sulfate, gluten, sodium chloride, salt, parabens, MEA, DEA or dyes.  It is enriched with omega-6 and antioxidants, and made with certified Argan oil from Morocco.  It claims to “Add incredible softness and shine, revitalize and repair, protect from thermal damage, speed up drying time, restore optimal moisture balance.”

So here is how I use it on my hair.  After showering, I brush my hair out and put a little less than ½ a teaspoon into the palms of my hands.  I rub them together and apply it starting at the ends and gradually comb it through to the top using my fingers.  Then I just style as usual. It’s also a great skin moisturizer so I rub the rest of it into my hands when I’m done, or onto my kitten Monster’s fur it makes her nice and soft!  Also a final tip is to take an unused mascara wand like the ones from Sephora they use for samples and put a little bit on the end of that and run it through your bare lashes to give them some more moisture and it has made a difference for me!

Dermorganic also has a great shampoo and conditioner that I recommend.  I don’t use it regularly but I have used it in the past and it’s great stuff, but this product can be used with any shampoo or conditioner I haven’t noticed a difference with anything.

So there you have it, a long but hopefully informative review of one of my favorite beauty products.  I hope you found all the information helpful.  If you have any questions please feel totally free to ask I’d love to help.  Take care everyone and have a beautiful day!

How Sweet it is!

So as my first official beauty post, let me start out by letting you all in on a deal going on this week!  I love shopping around for good deals and this absolutely takes the cake.

This week at CVS physicians formula is on sale with $6 off the product.  Now usually this wouldn't necessarily be enough for me to stock up or something, since physician's formula isn't part of my daily routine.  However I was able to also get a hold of an additional $5 off coupon via Glamlifeguru from youtube.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with her,  she has a beauty vlog on youtube and every week she goes to local drug stores and fills you in on sales and coupons and ways to get things for ridiculously cheap.  So I got this coupon and thought I'd see how I can make the best use out of it.

First off, this $5 off coupon CAN be used with the already $6 off with your CVS card.  Thus the products are actually a whopping $11 off.  And if that wasn't cool enough already, you can also print out and use more than one coupon!  One coupon is allowed per item purchased.  So I printed out 5 coupons online and went for it.

I was able to purchase a new peach blush, the mineral wear powder, a mascara, bronzer, and a face corrector (with green hues to tone down redness).  All in all it would have cost me nearly $70 for all these with no discount.  My purchase came out to $26.  Sounds great right?  Well after I looked over my receipt I realized I didn't get the $6 off deal on 2 of the products.  So I went back in and pointed that out and the teller ended up letting me reuse the $5 coupon AND the $6 off again.  Therefore when all was said and done, I paid $1.71 after tax for 5 physicians formula products.  Plus received a $5 extra care bucks tag at the end of my receipt.  Thus meaning that when all was said and done, I paid -$3.29 for 5 products.  Holy Moly!!!  If  you look at it like this, it's like CVS told me "Hey, if you give us $1.71 we will give you back a gift card for CVS for $3.29 and 5 free beauty products."

The moral of this story is: Always be polite to the tellers, and ALWAYS check your receipt.
Below are some photos of my new products, and I will link to Glamlifeguru's youtube so that you can get a hold of the coupon.  Check out some of her video's too!  I'm a big fan :)
Have a Beautiful Day!

A Photo Introduction to Us

To go along with my first post, I thought perhaps I would post a few photos of my life to really give a proper introduction.

Meet Monster! She's the cream to the coffee we call life.
I'm sure she will be a familiar face in my posts

Meet Me!  A little less exciting but here I am :)
Meet the man who is forced to share his space with all my
girly-ness...aww isn't he so great? I sure do think so ;)

My first post!

Well Howdy Folks!

This is my very first blog post hooray!  I will start today by telling you about myself.  I am a student here in the Bay Area, living on a student's budget with my boyfriend and our kitten.  I enjoy spending time with them, performing with my lovely Belly Dance troupe at various locations, traveling, hiking, camping, shopping, and surfing around the internet looking for new and exciting products.

Another passion of mine is health and beauty.  I feel very passionate about taking care of my body and staying healthy.  I use my passion to scout out and read up on various products from drug store to designer/high end to see if they are what they claim to be.  I love trying out tips and tricks to further my experiences and sharing ideas.  Some of my best tips have come from sharing and conversing with others!

So to get to the purpose of this blog, I am here to give out my honest reviews on all different sorts of things from teeth to nails, to hair and skin and everything in between.  I will answer questions, post pictures, coupons, anything to help out fellow beauty lovers.  I will never post anything untruthful or biased.  I'm not here to be famous or to get free products.  I just feel that one can never have too much information on a product especially one that will be used on your body.  I encourage feedback and questions 100% and I will respond to all because if you take the time to read and respond, I feel that I can do the same.

I hope you find this blog helpful and I can't wait to hear from you all<3
Have a beautiful day! xoxo
